Char Waddy, MS
Resident in Counseling
I am a compassionate therapist dedicated to helping you navigate the complexities of life through a collaborative, empathetic approach. Recognizing that each person has a unique set of strengths and challenges, I understand what it feels like to be lost and feel like you don't have a voice. I am also a military spouse so I also know what it feels like to not have a stable support system and other challenges that come along with it. I believe that sometimes, an outsider's perspective can provide the guidance needed to steer life in the desired direction. By working together, I can help you identify your values and desires for creating a personalized plan for achieving a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Specializing in assisting adults, adolescents, couples, and families, I offer a culturally affirming approach for clients dealing with a wide range of issues, including trauma, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, self-esteem and self-worth struggles, people-pleasing behaviors, cultural concerns, burnout, compassion fatigue, and more. I am particularly passionate about helping professionals develop self-preservation strategies to manage the challenges they face in their work.
With a deep commitment to supporting Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. I also utilize a decolonization, liberation, and social justice framework in therapy. This approach centers healing through a holistic view of well-being, including spiritual health and promotes healing-centered engagement that nurtures both the emotional and cultural needs of clients.
By blending creative interventions, skill-building, and talk-based therapy, I empower clients to take control of their wellness. Together, you and I will work to identify ways to cultivate nourishment, celebration, and healing, all while centering the often unheard voices of emotions triggered by trauma, stress, and oppression.
