Jennifer Reyes, RN, PMH-BC
Jennifer Reyes is a board certified mental health nurse with 13 years of experience. She believes everyone deserves advocacy and care no matter who they are. Jen started her nursing career in the Burn/Trauma unit it but always had a love for mental health. She has been working as a mental health nurse for the past 8yrs and received extra training and certification. Her passion is to break the stigma on mental health in the Asian American community.
Born Jacksonville, Fl, Jen spent her early years living with grandparents while her parents were getting settled in VA. She was immersed in the Filipino culture and language because they only spoke Tagalog. As a child, she moved to Virginia Beach and continued with live in a multigenerational household. Culture is an important part of her life and also informs her work as a mental health nurse.
As a mother of four, Jen hopes to pass down her culture and traditions to her children and also instill in them the importance of mental health. In her free time (if any) she enjoys coaching basketball to Filipina girls and traveling with her family.
