Melody Agbisit, PhD, LPC, NCC
Inspired by kindness and connection, Melody Agbisit is a Licensed Professional Counselor, educator, social entrepreneur, and writer. Her mission is to make mental wellness more accessible in the workplace and her passion is to advocate for the AAPI community. She received her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Old Dominion University and her Masters in Counseling from Regent University. She is also an Asian Pacific Leadership Program Fellowship alumna of the East West Center in Honolulu, HI. Appointed by Governor Northam, she recently finished her term as the Treasurer and Health Committee Chair on the Virginia Asian Advisory Board. Currently, she is the founder of Kultura Wellness and Consulting where she provides mental health therapy, corporate trainings, and community engagement.
Passionate about promoting cultural identity, mental wellness, and leadership in a creative way, Melody has provided personal, professional, and leadership development training to individuals of all ages and disciplines both locally and abroad. Born and raised in Virginia Beach, she has spent over 20 years serving her community including, but not limited to mentoring AAPI at-risk youth, organizing AAPI community events and fundraisers, and performing in AAPI art and cultural festivals. Currently, Melody is working on several passion projects involving her Filipino culture, creative writing, and mental wellness in addition to her work as a psychotherapist and educator. Melody lives by her brand MeloMahalo which stands for: Purpose, Love, and Gratitude.
For self-care, Melody enjoys exploring different cultures through food and activities, relaxing with friends and family, and writing poetry. She also enjoys her worm farm which she initially started in an effort to save the world from food waste.
